RRC.....

She stood on the shore line alone.  Watching the water as in came in.  Letting the sound of it sooth her.

Her heart full of pain, she accepted the truth she could no longer ignore.  The love she had given was not enough.  No matter how long she waited, it never would be.  There would always be someone else.  She would always be just waiting in the shadows.

She knew the time had come to let go.  She looked ahead, trying to see her life without him.  All she could see was emptiness.  There had to be more.  Something waiting for her.

As she turned to go, she saw him standing there watching her.  Waiting for her.  In that moment she knew...

What she saw was the future.  Something new.

Every week, my freind Rita, does a writing challange.  This is my contribution this week.  To find out more visit Rita's Page...click here.

  6. I like your story Linda, reminds me a lot of the day I stood at the end of the pier making the decision that I would have to divorce my husband... I even got chatted up by a fisherman who bought me a cup of tea!

  7. You have hit my nail on the head.... even the picture, which I know isn't your shot, fits my scenario perfectly.

  10. This looks like something I might like to try. When do the pictures go up? And how long before you have to post?

  11. I used to be into poetry, but the council used to come in every 6 months and paint over the walls of the Public Toilets. Not fair!!!! There was some geat poetry in those Public WC's

My favourite was "Here I sit Glee and Heartfull.......Got in free and s**t a cart full.

    Not by me, obviously.

I do love toilet humour. It's about my level. You could never take me to a posh meal with a load of poets. Talk about lower the tone. You'd need to be a limbo dancer by the end of the night if I was there.

  12. That's a good thing, isnt' it? Meant you could use the same rhymes over again and no one would know you were repeating yourself.

  15. I remember that one too Linda but I was thinking of something else - one of your own images. I had a scroll round your blog titles but it didn't leap out at me.

What DID leap out at me though was a whole load of Vettriano prints.

    And that reminded me........

I had a strange wee encounter on the plane and at the airport on the way over here.
It made me think of you, so I did something......
    Well, I did something.

You'll need to wait until I blog it.

  20. You found me a handsome Scotsman in a kilt and put in in the mail?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think she was seated next to Vettriano and has wangled you a dinner date with him

    ReplyDelete
  22. Not quite.
But a pretty good guess all the same.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Actually, now you come to mention it....
I DID meet a handsome man in a kilt when I was going through Heathrow airport last year.
Meant to blog that one too and never got round to it.
