Pictures to Words # 12 ~ Haiku

in the spring rain, a dance
love begins, never to end
i take the chance again

I haven't participated here in a while but, when I saw this photo, I instantly fell in love with it.

Haiku is something new for me.  I've never tried to write it.   I looked it up.  Read a little about it then, found a syllable counter.  LOL

That said, here is my first attempt.  I changed it around a few times.  Never was really satisfied or sure if I was doing this right.

Emmm once told me to go with my first thoughts so, here it is.  Any and all advice is welcome.  As is what I did wrong or what I didn't do.

  3. Not sure, but I seem to remember that a Haiku is three lines of poetry. The first line has 5 syllables, second has 7 and the third has 5 ... I think.

If that's the case, yours is not a haiku .. but who the heck caress, it suits the photo perfectly.

  7. Linda, there is no strict rule about the 5-7-5 syllables. I know those who use a lot fewer.
I like what you wrote, makes sense with the picture. Well done!

  9. I think the counter I used Holly didn't count words like a or something I guess. I was trying to break it down on my own. LMAO Trying to use 1 syllable words. Maybe I'll try tonight to do it again. Without the counter this time. LOL
