GI Party

I called Tee tonight, at work, to make arrangements for some transfers.  She sounded distracted so, I asked her what was wrong.  She started laughing, they were having  a GI Party at her store.

When my girls were young, my Dad stayed with us off and on.  On Sat. mornings, while I was working,  he held GI Parties.  Cleaning was the order of the day. LOL  The girls loved it.  Of course, there was always ice cream and candy when the detail was over.

This has always stuck with them.  For me, it bought back many memories of their youth.  I've been smiling since.

OH and there was the trash ride.  I have never been able to figure out what was so exiting about the ride to the dump.  LMAO  But, there must have been something to it because all the kids wanted to ride with Granddaddy to take off the trash.

  6. Memories of "family" time are the best! No matter what your doing, just having the family bond and being together makes it all fun & memorable!

  7. My boys still remember "M&M time". When they had spent the day dragging stuff out (and neglecting to put it back) I'd holler "M&M time!" For 15 minutes they would run around putting away everything they could, and at the end of 15 minutes, I'd hand each of them a bag of M&M's. Worked like a charm.

  8. It's those memories that make thinking of the past a nice place to spend some time occassionally.

I can't imagine the dump holds such an attraction but maybe it was the journey that holds the key!

  14. I got a chest of drawers from the dump once. I liked it so much it got shipped over with my other furniture to the States.
Bet the original owner would be shocked to hear of its travels since he abandoned it at the trash centre. LOL
