Picture Perfect~~~Collective

My very first PP was the word "Collective".  When I saw this weeks word, It came to mind immediately so, hopefully not breaking rules, I'm re-posting it.  Since I've been called into work and don't have time to start another search, it works for me.  I've always loved participating in PP but, lately finding the time seems hard.

Collective

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A collective is a group of people who share or are motivated by at least one common issue or interest, or work together on a specific project(s) to achieve a common objective.

I chose this picture because, the gulls are, collectively, gathered on the beach, enjoying the same thing. Greeting a new day.

I took this picture in Feb. while at the beach with my friend Carolyn. Just after the sun had risen. I was using my Kodak 340.

GI Party

I called Tee tonight, at work, to make arrangements for some transfers.  She sounded distracted so, I asked her what was wrong.  She started laughing, they were having  a GI Party at her store.

When my girls were young, my Dad stayed with us off and on.  On Sat. mornings, while I was working,  he held GI Parties.  Cleaning was the order of the day. LOL  The girls loved it.  Of course, there was always ice cream and candy when the detail was over.

This has always stuck with them.  For me, it bought back many memories of their youth.  I've been smiling since.

OH and there was the trash ride.  I have never been able to figure out what was so exiting about the ride to the dump.  LMAO  But, there must have been something to it because all the kids wanted to ride with Granddaddy to take off the trash.

Mono Monday Plus #28 (MM #42)

Another MM rolls around.  I have an entry for both this week.  First is a picture of my daughter Brandy.  I loved the way the light was shinning around her that day.  I didn't get the shot the way I wanted (I believe this is called lens flare.  Need a lens hood) so, I played with it a bit in Picnik.  Speaking of which, is anyone, besides me having problems with picnik this week?

Back to the picture, the first is my original.  Then, I changed it to black and white, flipped the pic, adjusted the saturation and temperature, softened it a bit and added a vignette.  Still wasn't what I was after but, I like it a little better.

My plus entry~My favorite Eagles song is Witchy Woman.  A few nights ago, with all the talk of the moon, I played around with a picture.  I've been doing different things with it this week.  I couldn't decide which one I liked best so, You all can help me decide.

This is the first one, seemed to be missing something and too light at the bottom.

Layered it here with another moon shot.

Then played with this shot.  A self portrait here.  I was playing with the mirror and candles.  Recording settings.  I liked this one but, the moon in the eyes didn't show up so much.

I wanted to give it a spooky, mystical look so, I added a layer of mossed covered tress to it.  LOL

As you can see, I continued to play.  The shot of the truck isn't mine.  It was taken by a friend who gave me permission to use it.

So, there ya have it.  For more on MM Click here.

Picture Perfect~~~Disordered.

lacking organization or in confusion; disarranged.

Yep, that definition fits.  Disorganized is exactly what the girls were when I was trying to take this shot.  Some went left, some went right...LOL   If I had some of them looking at me the others were looking somewhere else.  Some were serious, some were clowning around.

I took this picture at a family gathering Thanksgiving.  I did get a few shots of them that day.

Disorganized they were but, they were having fun.  Who needs organization when you're with family, having fun, in a place full of love.

Mono Monday Plus #27 (MM #41)

For Christmas, my daughter, Brandy,  gave me a beautiful frame.  It holds 28 pictures.  Right away,  could see it, filled with black and white photo's of my family.  This will probably be one I use.

My entry this week is my daughter Tamara.  I didn't do any layers or anything this time.  Just took it to picnik, cropped it.  Changed it to black and white.  Added a vignette and mirrored frame.  Then I went down a little on the exposure and contrast.  Went up on the saturation and temperature, to give it a warmer look.

My original shot:

The edited version:

When I print it, I may not use the mirrored version.

Picture Perfect~~Cold

What does the moon have to do with cold?  Well, this picture was taken in Feb. of last year.  It was one of the coldest nights of the year.  It was also the lunar eclipse.  I had so much fun that night taking these shots.  LOL  I was shaking so much I didn't think any of them would turn out.

I haven't posted much on PP for a while now.  I really didn't think I would have anything for this one but, I remembered these shots.  Our weather here does get cold and we do have the occasional ice and snow storm, just not that often.

As for me, I'm ready for spring....

Mono Monday Plus #26 (MM #40)

My entry this week, my grandmonster, Matthew.  I think he loves the lake as much as I do.  I have several shots where he's just sitting gazing out over the lake.  I had a time getting any shots of him at all this day.  LOL  When I asked him to look at me he said "Nanny, I want to look at the water".

This is two shots, layered then changed to black and white.  I used paint.net.
