Meme's Books of Love.....

Lined along these shelves are Meme's books of love.  Each one has a name on it.  A son or daughter, grandchild, even great grandchildren.  They're filled with pictures.  Pictures that tell the story of our lives.
Meme has spent many years....lots of hours...working on these books.  A lot of love and time have gone into them.
In the above photo, My Aunt Flora, sister Emily, and nieces, Brooke and Amy.  They're looking through books that Meme has put together.  I spent time myself looking through them.
In my book, were pictures I had forgotten about.  Pictures from many years ago.  Different family gatherings and even a family shot before I was divorced.  In my daughters books, they're were pictures from the time they were very young until now.  Pictures of the Grandmonsters.  I smiled the whole time I was looking at them and knew then, I would write this blog.
There was also books full of pictures I had taken, of family gatherings here.  I was surprised to see them but, happy too.  Knowing that she was using the pictures I had taken for her books of love made it all worth while.  From now on when I take them, I'll smile thinking of her and her books.
Here she is at her desk.  This is where she spends countless hours working on her books of love.  Everything is very organized.  The drawers filled with paper, ink and all the things she uses here.
What I don't have a picture of, are the two books she had tucked away here at her desk.  These books had my name on them. Inside were my blogs.  She had printed them out and saved them.  She handed me the books and didn't say anything.  I was so surprised.  She had stories that I had written.  Poems....so many of the post I've done.  I was so touched by this.  And so filled with the love she put inside these books.
To Meme:
I love you!!!!  I know you don't get to spend much time with my grandmonsters but, I promise you they will know how much love and time you put into these books.  And when the time comes, I'll continue Meme's books of love and one day, they will too.

She Waits

Beautiful Dreamer
Jack Vettriano
On the night that Tamara was attacked, she had called me, just moments before, asking me if I still had a poem she had written several years ago.  I did.
she waits.....
in her dreams she waits. the night is bright the moon is full. she remembers the last time they were here.
his touch like fire burning every part of her inside out.
for this she waits.....
her name he calls like the sweetest song, words of undying love he whispers.
for this she waits.....
as she stands in the moonlight she prays he'll come she dreams of the first time..
he reaches out and takes her in a warm embrace
for his kiss she waits...
his lips move ever so lightly over hers, her heart pounding her blood races
the softness dissapears passion rages the battle of love begins
as she remembers she waits...
her body tremors from his every touch every kiss she is his for always
their hearts, body and soul become one.
pleasure of pure extacy she cries out he calls her name
"ill love you always never forget me my love i shall return for you are my one my only wait for me"
as tears begin to fall her heart calls for him she cries out his name in sadness "i shall wait forever my love"
(but he will never come)
and she waits.......

For Mitzi Lynn

Her Time To Fly

Her time to fly is drawing near

Our hearts filled with pain

Our minds with fear

A beautiful soul thats touched our lives

An angel she will become when it's her time to fly

Letting go will not be easy

As understanding still hasn't come

I pray God gives us peace and courage

When her time on earth is done

A gaurdian angel to all those she loves

Her body will be gone but

Her soul will watch from above

Never will we forget her love and courage in our lives

God's calling his angel home and we must find a way to say goodbye

We must cherish each moment with her till

It's Her Time To Fly

For my Aunt Mitzi who will soon become one of God's angels

Back in time....Repost from Aug 2007

Frank Licsko
...a year ago today, this was my post. Strange how fate steps in. This was something I needed to remember today.
Facets-any of the definable aspects that make up a subject (as of contemplation) or an object (as of consideration)
It seems to me that the facets of our lives are comprised of many things. They shape and mold us into the people we are. We have the times that are full of happiness and joy. Memories of family and friends. Some of which, are in our lives for only a short time but, leave us with so much.
There are the times of sorrow and adversity. Times that are filled with fear and uncertainty. I think these are the times that we grow and learn the most. Heart break and betrayal that fills us with doubt, not only about others but about ourselves. The journey back up is not always easy when we've been knocked down by the events in our lives.
I think the most important facet in our lives is Love. The ability not only to give love but to recieve it. My life is filled with Love. The love of my family and friends. My daughters and my grandsons. This is what I reach for in the difficult times of my life. This is what gives me the strength to pull myself back up or to stand strong when I'm needed by others.
Even with the rough times in my life, I have truely been blessed with what I have been given.

I came home tonight...

and was so touched by my friends here.  Emmm and her stalking, Maggie's video.  I love you all.
At the moment, I'm pissed, I'm hurt...I want to scream.  And it's no ones fault but my own.  I put myself back where I had already been...just to go through the same shit.  Sometimes I think I'm the biggest idiot there is.
Being in love is for fools and idiots and I'm both!!!!!

Man Of Mystery

Man Of Mystery
Jack Vettriano
Some of you, newer to my wee world, may not know of my passion for Scottish artist, Jack Vettriano.  I haven't posted anything of his in a while.  Above is one of his newest works.  "Man Of Mystery".  (Honey if ya ask me, they're all a friggen mystery)
Back Where You Belong
Jack Vettriano
This one holds a special place in my heart.  Two lovers coming together.  Kept apart by time, distance....but now Back where they belong.  It sets me off to day dreams of one day.
Along Came A Spider
Jack Vettriano
Ahhh but, this one.  My Favorite!!!!!  Along came a spider.  For a mere $6000 dollars it could be mine.  Anybody want to loan me some money?  LMAO  Morticia and I are going to buy it together, along with a huge house that connects in the middle.  One side hers, one side mine.  The middle ours.  LOL We'll hang it there.  Of course, one of us has to win the lottery first.
At one time, there was a video of his paintings that was done to one of my favorite songs, My Immortal, (once again thank you Holly)  but, seems it's been removed.  But, this is another one that shows some of his work.

She stood on the shore line alone.  Watching the water as in came in.  Letting the sound of it sooth her.

Her heart full of pain, she accepted the truth she could no longer ignore.  The love she had given was not enough.  No matter how long she waited, it never would be.  There would always be someone else.  She would always be just waiting in the shadows.

She knew the time had come to let go.  She looked ahead, trying to see her life without him.  All she could see was emptiness.  There had to be more.  Something waiting for her.

As she turned to go, she saw him standing there watching her.  Waiting for her.  In that moment she knew...

What she saw was the future.  Something new.

Once upon a time....

.....in the land of the hill, there lived two cousins.  They spent their time roaming the countryside looking for adventure.   Running from bulls, sliding down river banks.  A little trespassing here and there.  The occasional ghost hunt.  They sailed away on a pirate ship.  Played in the rain on the beach.  Cameras always by their side, looking for that perfect shot. They drove around barricades to get to places they wanted to go.  (Poor Justin, he may never get over that one).
But alas, life intruded upon their adventures.  They began too wither away as responsibilities of work and family took over.  Now, they only seem to be able to talk on the phone and dream of far away places.  And new adventures.  Longing for the day they can break away and for one day be free......
Damn I miss Morticia.
PS--Brandy spent the night in the hospital Monday night.  She was having contractions.  She seems to be okay now and Keiran is still in the oven.

Picture Perfect~~~Shiny

When I first saw this weeks theme, I thought of shots of my brothers shiny heads.  Then thought naw...give them boys a break.  LOL  And of course there's the cars and moon but, I figured there would be lots of those.  So, I dipped into me archives...and got caught up in memories.  I came across shinny red crawfish boiling in the pot.  The gazing ball in Morticia's yard....and lots of others.  LOL

I decided on this one.  I took this in Feb at Mitzi and Clydes wedding.  I liked the way the light was hitting the glass rocks.  They shinned.  So...here it is...

MM Monday

MM Monday...I've always enjoyed this and I'm gonna miss it when it's gone.  I've learned a lot with this group.  Not just from the Gator, who I really miss but, from many of you.  The pictures I used this week are one that I took of my daughter and a sunset from one the rare days that Morticia and I had to just go out and play.   After I blended the two pictures, I changed it to black and white and used a midnight blue filter.  Not sure which one I like best.  In the one in color, I used the color dodge when I blended and went down a little on the opacity.  Looks like theres a sunspot on her face, guess I'll have to go back and fix that.  I think I may print and frame one of these.  Now, If I can just find the right combination of contrast on tones for the one I'm working on of Brandy.

I look forward to viewing the entries this week but, may have to wait until tomorrow.  Just back from the hospital.  Seems I'm a little dehydrated.

Y'all take care

Picture Perfect~~~Contrast

The Picture Perfect theme this week is "Contrast".  When I looked up contrast in photography, this is what I found:

"Contrast within photography can be found in a picture with light and dark colors, black and white high contrast photos, or a complimentary color scheme image."

This is a picture of my daughter, Tamara.  Affectionately known as Tee.  It's one of my favorites.  On this day, contrast was in my favor.  The color of her shirt, her skin tones, the background at the lake and her eyes.  To me, everything came together to bring out the sparkle in her eyes.

MM Plus....

My MM Plus....One of my favorite pictures of Morticia, which I was able to save, Thanks to the Gator.  Sure do miss him.  Layered it with a beach shot and aded a frame and of course, change it to black and white.
Not sure where to leave my link but, I'm heading over to Luxy's.

Images and Words~~~Red

Okay, this took forever!!!!  Picnik wouldn't work for me at all.  I have no idea what's up with that.  Then, PS elements 7 gave me a fit.  And, seems I don't have enough virtual memory.  This isn't exactly what I wanted but, I'm done for tonight.  LOL

Picture Perfect~~~Tough As....

...a lizard.  Not sure where that saying originated.  Maybe because their skin is tough.  And tough was getting the little critter to cooperate long enough for me to get the shot.  LOL

Picture Perfect~~~Nursery Rhymes

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout,
Down came the rain and washed the spider out,
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain,
And the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout gain.

When I saw this weeks theme, a picture of my Grandmonster popped into my head.  But, as I searched through Nursery Rhymes, I came across this.  Suddenly,  I found myself smiling. Memories of my daughters and Grandmonsters filled my mind.  Remembering doing this with them.  The laughter, the joy....watching little hands copy mine.

Picture Perfect~~~Seasons Colors

To me, each season has it's own unique beauty.  There's something special about them all.  In the winter, a cardinal, against the snow is a beautiful sight.  In the picture below,  I didn't capture a cardinal on this day. I added it from another day, out at the lake.  I think it added to the peacefulness of this moment in time.   It adds to the beauty of the snow on the creek.

Lost in a mist
Reaching for the unknown
Blinded by dreams
Confused by truth and fantasy
Waiting on one day to come
Unsure, afraid...is it enough

Picture Perfect~~~Favorite past picture perfect post

Favorite post....for today, it would be this one.  Our lives are full of contrast.  Light and dark.  Daily, we face the battles of life.  It seems that in our darkest times there is always a light.  A friend or maybe even a stranger can reach out and touch us and bring a peace and comfort.

Contrast is the dissimilarity or difference between things. Another meaning for contrast is in the context of colour. This can be the opposition of items that are compared or the act of distinguishing via differences comparison. The act of linguistics contrast is the act of expressing the distinctions between words.(It is used in the writing form compare and contrast)

After seeing this weeks theme, this morning, for Picture Perfect, I searched through my pictures.  I kept coming back to this one.  It was taken the night of the solstice moon.  It's not a very good picture but, to me it's a "contrast" between light and dark.

When I think of light and dark, other things come to mind:

And the following poem:

On The Wings Of A Dragon

On the wings of a dragon she flies

out of the darkness and into the light

Sadness and pain cannot find her here

There is no place for anger and fear

peace and tranquility fill her heart

as she soars though the heavens up to the stars

this is where she paints her dreams

of things to come, things unseen

and if in time she loves again

this will be where her life begins

When I wrote this, my emotions were all of the above.  A "contrast" of feelings.  A conflicting ball of confusion.  A lot has changed, in my life since then but, there are still days that I look back.

Dear Aunt Shirley

Being the sweet little things we are, Morticia and I did as we were told yesterday.  We did not go looking for snakes. (Any other time you would see these varmits crawling across the roads).  Nor did we go play in the woods.  We did exactly what we said and chased the sunset.

Then we went to the river. (You didn't say anything about us going to the river) We wanted to play around with night shots.  Most of mine were crap but, Morticia got some great ones.  Would have helped if I had had the image stablization on...
Now, this one I thought was cool.  I'll be playing around with this one.
This is where the adventure begins....LMAO  Morticia and I were going to try to go around the bend to get some shots.  So, down the embankment we went.  And I do mean down.  Morticia's feet hit the mud, She slid down the embankment on her arse.  Being the loyal, supportive cousin that I am, I proceeded down, to make sure she was okay.  Once I had done that, I just had to have a shot of it.  Thing was I had my zoom lens attached and had to back off to get my shot.  I turned, a bit too quickly, and was soon on my arse in the mud with her.  It was hilarious.
We then decided to call it a night.  We jumped in the car (her car..lmao) and headed home.  We ended the evening, in the kithcen with India and Charles.  Laughing, talking and enjoying each others company.
Oh and India is now a big fan of William Wallace.  She can be heard yelling the words "FREEDOM"  (repeatedly)  Gotta love her.

Picture Perfect~~~Shades of Grey

I took this picture some time last summer.  Right after a storm.  I've sat here and gone through so many but, this was the one that I kept coming back too.  Too me, the sky is always so beautiful after a storm.  It seems to hold hope .... promise, as the light shines through.

I'm not sure if I've used this one before or not.  But, too me it fits.

I'm looking forward to viewing all the entries.

What does this have to do with the moon?  Not a thing.  It's just a line in the lyrics from this song that has stuck in my head.  I just love the line.
As for the moon, I keep getting e-mails from a psychic  This last one was telling me that I was born on a Sunday.  Okay, I was  sooo.....  According to this person, I was born under a certain phase of the moon.  Something to do with the Moon  Goddess Isis.  I possess untapped gifts.  Hmmmm thing here is these gifts come with a price of 29.99 for 6 months.  It's a pendant of Isis.
Now, I remember doing a blog about the Moon Goddess Diana.  She was a hunter, warrior and such.  From what I've been able to find on Isis, she was a healer and married to her brother.  Another brother was jealous, had a box fashioned like a coffin, tailor made so that only the other brother would fit in it.  Once the brother was in, he closed the box and hid it away.
Isis is said to have mourned to the extent that her tears flooded the Nile.  She at some point found the box and retrieved it.  Once again it was found by the brother who cut up her beloved into 14 pieces.  The pieces he then scattered.
Isis again searched.  She found all the pieces except one.  Guess which part of the anatomy that was!  It is said it was swallowed by a fish or crab or some such creature.
The myth goes on to tell how she replaced this piece with gold and brought him back to life.  He is said to be the watcher of the underworld.  Oh, and there was a child.  He was associated with the sun I think.
Then there's Rhiannon.  A Celtic Goddess.  Now this myth I liked.  She was to wed a man of her parents choosing. (Seems this was a trait that trickled down through history).  She refused and married a human.  Her story was interesting but, the blame phone rang and I haven't finished reading it yet.
Maybe tomorrow....LOL
