MM #13

Again this week, my entry is more than one picture.  I spent a couple of hours with these two not too long ago.  They're so much in love.  You can see it in his face.  You can see it in her eyes.  I took their engagement pictures.

My wish for these two is that they will aways look at each other with so much love.

My first two are the original pictures.

I took both pictures, changed them to black and white.  Adjusted the contrast and exposure and blended the two... My results...

Picture To Words Week 8

As I walk along the pier

The water gently sings

Her graceful melody soothing me

Worries of the day are left behind

My thoughts flow free

Scattered, wondering at will

Beauty surrounds me

Peace fills me

In this moment that is mine

I smile and find strength to face another day

MM #12

My original picture this week is actually 3 separate pictures:

Using, I blended the three pictures.  The moon shot is my main picture.  Then I put in Morticia's shadow.  Next, the shot of her on the couch.

Then I saved the pic and took it to  I went to create and used the holga-ish effect.  It changes it to black and white and blurs the edges.  A matte type effect.

Then I change the color to sepia.  My final pic:

My cousin....LOL

I've learned so much about editing through MM each week.  If you would like to know more or play here.

Picture to words week 4...Late entry

High above the clouds

In the place of dreams

Deep blue eyes

Haunting me

From separate shores

Love abounds

Two souls as one

Have been found

Hearts entwined forevermore

Both have found

What they were searching for

This is a late entry.  But, it just came to me.  There may be more, I just can't see it yet.

Solstice Moon

I was so mad at myself. I forgot about this. Linda Beth reminded me. I had to use my kodak, for the zoom. And, my battery was low. It died on me in mid shot. LOL These are some of the shots I got. Hard to focus when the battery is low. But, I'll have a backup battery for this camera in a few days. Gonna order it tonight.

Linda Beth went out too. Her first time out and she got some great shots. Using manual settings at that. Check her out.">

Picture To Words Week 7

Soaring above the cliffs

On the wings of hope

The river sings

The hills stand statuesque

Shrouded in the mist

Beauty raises her head

And a new day has begun

Picture to words...6

She had played here as a child.  Her secret place.  Full of wonder and magic.  Now, a woman, she returned.  Tired and broken.

Fragments of the past flash through her thoughts. Memories of  lost dreams, heartaches and pain.  Un-shed tears begin to flow, as she walks through the water, into the falls.  It envelopes her.  Surrounding her like arms of comfort.

She's is startled by the sound of her own laughter.  A bit of the young girl returns and she, once again, feels the magic of this place.  The past is washed away and she realizes, sometimes, you have to go back to move forward.

Picture Perfect...extravagance

  1. The quality of being extravagant.
  2. Immoderate expense or display.
  3. Something extravagant.

My extravagance, the sea.  I love it.  And I always end up in the water. Clothes and all. I did this just this week, as you can see from my avatar and back ground. My friends and family use the words weird, strange, and a few others, along with extravagant. LOL

I love the feel of the sea.  I always feel like I'm free to just be me there.  I laugh, dance, play, just do whatever I feel like at the moment.

Once when I was at the beach with my friends, SGOTM, I watched the moon as we walked down the beach.  It just seemed to be following us.  Glowing across the water.  My friend Jean just looked at me and said, " Go ahead, just don't go too far".  I was off.  Playing in the sea, under the moonlight.  No worries, no cares.....just dancing with the sea.

MM #10

Once again it's time for MM.  Last week, before I went to the beach, I purchased a new compact flash card.  It came with 6 months free Corel Paint.  When I downloaded it, I decided to play a bit.

Above my original picture

Took it to Corel, added a sandy canves

Then added a jagged edge.

I really liked this one but, I wanted to play some more so, I took it to picnik and changed it to black and white.  I then used the fade tool to add just a hint of color back to it.  (Always wondered how Kim Anderson did that).

After this I decided to try the sepia,  my final picture....

MM Monday 9

My original picture.  Went to picnik, desaturated, changed to black and white.  Didn't like that so chose the Sepia tone instead.  Went up on contrast and saturation.  Cropped the picture. Added the vignette and this is the outcome.

Wasn't really happy with this so went back.  Cropped some more and went up on exposure.
