Picture Perfect~~~House and Home

Books, my home is full of books.  And as you can see, I love Nora Roberts.  Reading has always been a passion for me.  I'm very happy, ending the day, with a new book or even a book I've read before.

The day I took this picture, my time was spent right here.  At home, reading the day away.

I enjoy "Picture Perfect" every week.  There are so many wonderful pictures and stories.  Some humorous.  Some heart wrenching  and some so touching, they bring tears to your eyes.

Picture Perfect`Contrast

Contrast is the dissimilarity or difference between things. Another meaning for contrast is in the context of colour. This can be the opposition of items that are compared or the act of distinguishing via differences comparison. The act of linguistics contrast is the act of expressing the distinctions between words.(It is used in the writing form compare and contrast)

After seeing this weeks theme, this morning, for Picture Perfect, I searched through my pictures.  I kept coming back to this one.  It was taken the night of the solstice moon.  It's not a very good picture but, to me it's a "contrast" between light and dark.

When I think of light and dark, other things come to mind:

And the following poem:

On The Wings Of A Dragon

On the wings of a dragon she flies

out of the darkness and into the light

Sadness and pain cannot find her here

There is no place for anger and fear

peace and tranquility fill her heart

as she soars though the heavens up to the stars

this is where she paints her dreams

of things to come, things unseen

and if in time she loves again

this will be where her life begins

When I wrote this, my emotions were all of the above.  A "contrast" of feelings.  A conflicting ball of confusion.  A lot has changed, in my life since then but, there are still days that I look back.

A friend saw herself in the words.  She was so touched by them that I gave the poem to her.

Beautiful Dreamer

Beautiful Dreamer

Jack Vettriano

I love this painting.  When I look at it, I wonder what she's dreaming about.  Is she looking to the past?  Missing someone that was once a part of her life?  Is she looking to the future?  Knowing that the things she dreams of just are not meant to be.  She looks sad to me.  Lost in thoughts.  But, I love her dress.

I also wonder what it was that Vettriano saw when he did this.  This is one of his softer pieces.  To me he paints with his emotions.  What he was feeling at the time seems to come through.

Some of his painting have been referred to as soft porn, as The Vamp and I have been discussing lately. LOL  But, I love his work.  All of it.  He paints things as he see's them.  Some are bit's of life that we don't always want to see I think.

Steve Hanks is another artist that I love.  Some of his paintings may be considered racy but, I think like Vettriano, he paints with emotion.  What he sees.  A softer view than Vettriano.  Still, the inner beauty and passion are there.

Love For The Unatainable

Steve Hanks

We all see things differently, I guess.  The art touches us in various ways.  So, what do you see?  I think both women are lost in memories of what was and what can not be.

Picture Perfect ~A Song Title~

This weeks entry was easy for me.  I took this picture in July when, I went to the beach with my cousin Morticia and my friend from 360, Sonia.

I love Celtic Woman and when I saw this group of pictures, the song came to mind right away.

Celtic Woman Send Me A Song Lyrics

Take the wave now and know that you're free
Turn your back the land, face the sea
Face the wind now, so wild and so strong
When you think of me, wave to me and send me song

Don't look back when you reach the new shore
Don't forget what you're leaving me for
Don't forget when you're missing me so
Love must never hold, never hold tight, but let go

Oh, the nights will be long when I'm not in your arms
But I'll be in this song that you sing to me
Across the sea, somehow, someday
You will be far away, so far from me
And maybe someday I will follow you in all you do
'Til then, send me a song

When the sun sets the water on fire
When the wind swells the sails of your hire
Let the call of the bird on the wind
Calm your sadness and loneliness
And then start to sing to me
I will sing to you
If you promise to send me a song

I walk by the shore and I hear
Hear your song come so faint and so clear
And I catch it, a breath on the wind
And I smile and I sing you a song
I will send you a song
I will sing you a song
I will sing to you
If you promise to send me a song

PIcture Perfect-"Reflections

Some have already seen this picture.  I took it  a couple days ago, when I went out to take the trash.  I took my camera with me. LOL  Never know what you might find.  I noticed my Shadow across the ground and decided to take a picture.

What you see is my shadow reflected in a mud puddle.  In my shadow is the reflection of the light pole, trees and sky.

I enjoy Picture Perfect every week.  If you would like to know here
