Picture Perfect-Harvest

Harvest
n.

  1. The act or process of gathering a crop.
    1. The crop that ripens or is gathered in a season.
    2. The amount or measure of the crop gathered in a season.
    3. The time or season of such gathering.
  2. The result or consequence of an activity.

A few hours of my day were spent harvesting memories.   While this may not be what was meant.  The picture holds a lot of meaning for me.  Above, my daughter Brandy, laughing.  Enjoying Thanksgiving day.  She cooked up a pretty good meal.  Some of you know why this picture means so much to me.

Picture Perfect-Repetition

repetition (plural repetitions)

  1. The act or an instance of repeating or being repeated.
  2. (weightlifting): A single, controlled exercise motion; also called a rep. A group of repetitions is a set.

The picture above was taken at my Aunt Flora's.  A place full of memories.  A place where my cousins and I played as children.  Running, jumping, a whole lot of yelling. LOL  Just having fun.  There have been many holidays spent here.  Numerous Easter egg hunts have been held here.  There were also broken bones, a busted head or two and any number of other small accidents.  A place of fun, laughter and love.

Our Children have played here.  And now, our children's children.  Three generations of childhood memories live in this place-"repetition"

Wow...A reply from Multiply

Jack Vettriano
The Umbrella

I love this painting. Found it today. It's one of Vettriano's first paintings.  Walking on the beach in the rain.  I can relate to this since I love the rain.  Wonder what thoughts are going through her head.  Is she missing someone?  Is she thinking of a love lost?  Is she dreaming of a love to come?

Now, about Multiply.  It's nice to actually hear from someone when you're having a problem.  They confirmed that there was a problem and that they are working on correcting it.  They also assured me that no messages would be lost. LOL So, eventually I'll get all those PM's.

So, what are you bunch up to today?

Legend of the Pheonix

Legend of the Phoenix by Vlinder The Phoenix bird symbolizes immortality, resurrection, and life after death. In ancient Greek and Egyptian mythology, it is associated with the sun god. According to the Greeks the bird lives in Arabia, near a cool well. Every morning at dawn, the Sun God would stop his chariot to listen to the bird sing a beautiful song while it bathed in the well. Only one Phoenix exists at one time. When the bird felt its death was near, every 500 to 1,461 years, it would build a nest of aromatic wood and set it on fire. The bird then was consumed by the flames. A new Phoenix sprang forth from the pyre. It embalmed the ashes of its predecessor in an egg of myrrh and flew with it to Heliopolis, "City of the Sun," where the egg was deposited on the altar of the sun god. The Phoenix, has become a universal symbol of rebirth and the most famous of all fabulous birds. Clad in feathers of red and gold, the color of the rising sun, it had a melodious voice that became mournful with approuching death. Other creatures were then so overcome by its beauty and sadness that they themselves fell dead. According to legend, only one Phoenix could live at a time. The Phoenix never died permanently. Legend says it existed when the universe was created and that it knows secrets of life and reincarnation even the deities do not know.

Foto Friday-Fall

Fall-To drop or come down freely under the influence of gravity.

Those of you that know me, know I love water.  I took this picture with my Kodak Z7590.  I was having fun trying to get pictures of the water falling and splashing.
